Marine ecology researcher

Biography

My main scientific activities consist on studing marine ecosystems, particularly how benthic ecosystems (coastal and deep seafloor) and mankind activities interact. I am interested in marine infauna, but also micro- and macroalgae.

Alongside my scientific activities, I am working to better connect science and society by animating dedicated shows and interviews.

Enviro-Actions preventive environmental management model
This project is buidling on the results of the Baie des Sept Îles Environmental Observatory, to create integrative monitoring methods for coastal ecosystems in industrial harbour areas. Five steps have been established:
Effects of environmental changes on the functioning of eelgrass meadows on Canadian coasts
This postdoctoral project is focused on eelgrass meadows present on the coasts of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The objective is to understand how environmental changes will impact the physiology of eelgrass as well as the functioning of the benthic species that reside there.
Human activities influence on benthic ecosystems within a sub-Arctic industrial harbour area
This project is structured on three chapters: characterize infaunal communities and sediment parameters in benthic ecosystems around Sept-Îles (Canada) test ecological indicators to assess the Environmental Status in regard to cumulative impacts evaluate the influence of human activities on these ecosystems I selected the region of Sept-Îles in Québec, where numerous human activities vary in local intensity (e.
